    Dt's, medication and alcohol
I'm an alcoholic have tried to quit many times and have failed. But I will keep trying I've stopped again today and the withdrawals are like hell, does anyone know a save fast and easy way to stop the withdrawals without having to be drugged up for 5 days or so, this is my 10th or so detox in last 7 months, worried about side effects. Yes I'm in aa but after a few weeks I seem to keep falling back to my old ways, it lasts for weeks then I stop I really want to stop I've two young children who I love very much, I grew up with aclo parents who are now dying I don't want that life for for my children, its sounds crazy I know but drink is a very powerful and cunning addiction, I'm irish and life seems to revolve aroung drink with everyone I know,

There are vitamins and minerals you can take but if you are taking certain meds they are not good to take.
    Are you on any meds?

Wayne, you have been trying hard, I have seen you message on here before. There is no quick easy way unfortunately. If withdrawl it is really bad you should seek medical attention immediately for sure. Keep going to aa you know it works, but you may need medical help to detox. Sometimes a slip or relapse is the foundation for recovery. Remember you have a disease, you are unwell and need help to get well from both medical and aa. Be willing to go to any length to get sober and you will. I wish you every success.
