Hi, my name is Christine, I got the depo vera shot in jan '08 and was suppose to go back for the 2nd one in April '08, but I didn't. The side effects were tooo much for me to handle. The problem is that it's been 3 months and I haven't received my period. I took a pregnancy test in may and it was negative. So I assumed it was because of the shot. But its been 3 months and still nothing. Should I be worried? I've had unprotected sex with my BF and I'm worried. I know it says that is stays in your system for up to 6 months, but is that accurate even if you only received 1 dose?:confused:

It is most likely due to the shot, but I would still err on the side of caution and make an appointment with an OB/GYN. Just keep in mind that hpt's have a history of false negatives...
