I have a connection but cannot connect to the internet
OK so I have a wireless connection and it says its sending and receiving but when I try to connect to the internet or any program that uses the internet it doesn't work!
The browser gives me the dns error.
When I click "repair" by the connection it errors and says it could not renew my ip address...
    Someone please help!

This site gets this question a lot. Search the posts. The reason is usually the computer is configured to obtain its ip addressing configuration via DHCP and a DHCP server isn't setup on the network, typically the Internet gateway/router device. You can also statically configure your ip settings and avoid DHCP.

Post your router/gateway and computer IP configurations and models and maybe we can troubleshoot. A common setup would be for the router to have an address in the 192.168.1.x range such as 192.168.1.1, a DHCP range configured, and your ISP's DNS server addresses entered. The computer would then get a 192.168.1.x IP address and DNS addresses assigned from the router via DHCP if your network adapter's TCP/IP settings are set for obtaining addresses automatically. If so, and the address listed on your network adapter's support tab (Windows) starts with 169, DHCP isn't working.

Also, if this is a new setup, connect everything wired first if possible to simplify troubleshooting and network configuration and switch to wireless once your LAN is working properly.
