    Possession of Personal Property
I am a Virginia Resident and live with a friend. I am being threatened that my things will be on the street the next day. We do not have a lease agreement and as of May the home has been sold back to the bank due to foreclosure. I have stated that I will move my things in once week. Can my things be sat out?

Legally, you will have to be notified before your belongings can be removed by the Sheriff.

Illegally, I suppose they could do so whenever they want, and it would be up to you to pursue legal action against them for doing so.

Who is threatening to remove your stuff, the original landlord, or the bank?
