    Distance troubles
OK so I was in a relationship with this girl that I liked a lot, and she dumped me and hurt me and what not, so I was really sad for a while. Then I got in contact with a friend from 2nd grade who had moved after that year, we tlked and caught up and stuff and she got really pretty and wasn't the same girl I remembered, I love tlking to her. SO we'd been tlkin for a while and we both find out we like each other a lot, we reconnected in such a different way and it was just amazing. The problem is that I'm in NC and she's in Maine. She's going to go to college down here but that's still like 2 yrs away for us, she tells me how I complete her and what not and we always tlk as if we are dating even though we arnt. Idk how to deal with the time I have to wait, its so long, she even told me she wanted me to be her first (sexual partner that is). I want her to be mine to. We always make plans of things we're going to do together in the future, but how do I deal with this down time?? Help

Well, that's a lot of energy for a teenage boy to bottle up, isn't it? ANd to have someone dangling sex in front of you... GUARANTEED to keep you on the hook for quite a while.

What you've got here is a pen pal. You really need to exercise some care here so that your pen pal's very enticing words don't mess you up for the next two years. You have a real-life platter of dating opportunities in front of you already. Do you really want to miss them ALL for your pen pal?

Keep things in perspective. Consider ramping down the sex talk since it will only torture you. Give equal-opportunity time to girls at hand, too. It's only fair.

When she graduates and ACTUALLY comes to your town for school (500 miles away doesn't count), then you can consider letting this thing start to develop again. Until then, calm, peace, don't over-romanticize your pen pal.
