    Honda transmission noise
My son has a 1999 4cyl Honda accord. Timing belt was changed at 130000 miles---It has a loud noise after 40mph --a constant noise like it needs to shift but the car shifts with no problems ---just this noise --any idea what it could be --the mechanic said it needed a transimission but it shifts so smooth no problems---but the noise must be coming from the tranny

    Any help??

Try changing the transmission fluid, using a full-synthetic product. However, if you have not been changing the transmission fluid regularly, the clutch packs are likely shot and you're facing a rebuild.
