A few weeks ago I asked how to keep my dog cool in this heat. I was suggested a little plastic pool. And now that I have enough money(after babysitting a few times) there was just two things that I was wondering about, one around what is their price in Cananda. And the most important since I know rex is afraid of many things having to do with water how should I go about introducing him to the pool? I was thinking may be what is called a water wubba?

You get a kiddy pool from zellers or wallmart. They are fairly safe and don't take much water, he can't imerse himself in it just lay in it. You start with a water game, splashing him with the water and get him in that way. Huskies have webbed feet, rex, so he will find his way to it eventually. He will love it ! And it is also a good bonding feature between you and he, you will get into the fun of it too! God bless you, rex.

In the US they run somewhere from 7-15 bucks. I found the easiest way to introduce my dog to it was to walk her up to it on her leash, and splash in it a little. I think I might have even stepped in it first, to show her it was OK. The wubba should work, but if your dog has any plastic toys that he already likes to chase, you might try just throwing it in the pool. Throwing some ice cubes in it my work, if he likes to try and catch them. He may treat it like a giant water dish at first... just drinking out of it. But it won't take him long to realize that he can walk in it.

How is Rex about puddles? If he'll walk through them on walks, then he'll be fine with the pool.

And just an fyi: They are heavy when full of water, so you may want to put it on a gentle slope to make emptying easier, or get a bucket at the same time so that you can scoop out the water.
