It depends on if it is authentic. Proof of authenticity adds to its value, and allows you to sell the item on places like Ebay that will require you to prove its authenticity.

I agree that having proof of authenticity would add to the value of the card. However, there are many other places, other than eBay, where a person could advertise to sell such a card, and offer proof of the authenticity of it.
