Hi I want to do highlights but whenever I bleach my hair it ends up orange and will not pass that state because I color my hair a medium brown color. So I went to my beauty supply and bought loreal effasol which is a color remover. I strand tested and my hair turned orange and brassy. Can I then bleach and tone to get blonde highlights.

I'm not sure but I think stripping and bleaching are the same thing. I'm a brunette and have lots of red in my hair and have never been able to lift the color above that flaming orange shade you're talking about. I've had several professionals try too and it just doesn't go past orange. It would be easier to have blond extensions put in your hair.
