    Kenmore ultra wash
I have a kenmore ultra wash that I inherited with a house about 6 years ago. All was fine until recently when it became apparent that the dishes were no longer coming out of the dishwasher clean. Glasses come out with a film on them, silverware still looks dirty, plates dirty...

Has the thing died? Is there something plugged up.. There is a disposal.

    Thanks

The most common problem is with the sprayer arm(s):

    * Check to see if the rotating sprayer arm(s) rotate freely. Run it then open the door to see if you see them spinning.

    * Remove the sprayer arm(s) (unscrew the hub/nut) and shake it around and upside down to see if there are pieces of food that have gotten forced in there. If there is, then the force of the spinning can lodge them in the holes and block the water from spraying.

... and a couple of basic things:

    * You've got to load it correctly: Water must be able to reach everything.
    * Don't put dishes with food on them in there. No matter how good the d/w is, that food can too easily get spread over everything.
    * Make sure the valve on the water line is open all the way... and be sure it's hooked up to the hot, not the cold.
