    Are these safe
My daughter said flies are after her German Shepard like crazy so I looked up some natural repellents on the internet and it said cloves, mint and sweet basil are all good.
I wanted to know if she scattered them around the perimeter of her yard if it would be safe if the dog got into it?

Also any other things that are safe would be nice to know too.

    Thanks

My sister gets a spray from the feed store to spray on her horses... if there is a supply store in her area she may try giving them a call and see if it could be used on dogs.
Of course it is a chemical.

In regards to those herbs, I would check the ASPCAs website and see if any of those are listed... If not then probably the most that would happen is a upset stomach if he ate them.

Most dogs will ignore basil and mint, I don't know about cloves. But dogs are liable to eat interesting new things. How about the essential oils of these herbs droppered onto a handkerchief, then tied around the dog's neck?
