My a/c compressor motor will not start when I turn on down the thermastat unless I go outside and manually spin it to get it started. It will run for about 15 minutes and then it will stop again. I have to turn the air off for about 30 minutes and then I can turn it on and manually start it again by going back out and spinning it by hand. Someone told me that the capacitor is the problem could this be true or can someone lead me in the right direction?

I would replace Capacitor if fan spins free. Cheap, easy and fast.

It is either a capacitor or your fan motor is bad, usually if it is just a cap, once you spin the blade the fan will run until the unit cycles.
