    Miss Sparkle
Law student needs work experience (don't know where to start)
I'm an undergraduate Law student and I have just completed my second year (of a 3 year course) I have finished university for the summer and I have until September.
I was just wondering if anyone knows, or could point me in the right direction. I am looking for any work experience I can do in the mean time such as shadowing a judge or Barrister, helping out in a prison or Law firm, mini-pupillages or any legal work experience. Due to travelling restrictions it would have to be in the herts (uk) area or close-by.

    Thanks a lot guys.

Try speaking with your college first off and see if they have some sort of counseler on campus who can help you find a summer job like you wish. If that fails, then I would suggest that you contact some of the larger law offices near you and see if you can't make an appointment and go and discuss this possibility with a member of the firm in person. Be sure to take along your paperwork that contains your grades from the college. If you knock on enough doors, you will prevail. You could also call up and speak to people at the local courthouse and have them direct you to whoever you need to speak with. Go in person there if you can. Showing up in person makes a huge difference when seeking this kind of work. First off, they can see how professional you look (dress of course for the job and show up in an outfit such as you would if you had the job) and how professional you comport yourself.
