I am relocating my electrical panel to a safer place approximately 10 feed away. The original panel is 100-amp with about 13 circuits. I want to install a newer panelwith possibly more spaces for future circuits expansion. My questions are 1) with the incoming 100amp from Edison, I believe it is a 1/0 cable, do I need to have a separate distribution connect box for the 3 input wires? 2) and the 13 circuits ( 20 amps to 40 amps for the Air Con circuit) inside the old distribution panel can I just have a Distribution box with the knock out and connect the flex EMT wires from the old box to the new box in a race way like configuration?

Thaido007 - ID go to a 200 service qand get rid of the old 100 amp service. Now You need to go down to your local power co. and talk to one of their engineers, or their electrical Inspector, Every where you go every local will have different local codes, and you will neede to know what is what or you will end up with no power going to your house until it is DONE TO CODE, Also I hope you know a local Licensed Electriction, Because it is going to have to be done by one. First, no one can move a panel without talking to the Power Company, period! From the types of questions you are asking make me wonder just how experienced you are.

You must get permits to move the panel and the feeder cables. Only a licensed electrician should be doing this work. You are working with deadly conductors.

You cannot simply jump from 100 Amp service to 200 amp service without going through the Power Company and the AHJ.

Do you have Arc (flash) protection equipment? Simple eye protection will not do. Is this property your own or is a condo or an apartment?
