In the past I reinstalled the two pieces. The leak would stop but reocurr weeks later. As far as getting a new drin kit, are you referring to any comon drain? Would you recommend the WingTite shower Drain kit?

Jim, it seems like you are directing your post to one unknown person. Who are you trying to talk with? The Wingtite is a good system to use but you still will need to remove the old drain.
