My fridge is on the blink. The bottom half is warm yet the top freezer tis really cold what might be the problem?

The compressor is hot because it's running too long. The bottom is warm because the heat of the compressor is warming the bottom.

Reasons for running too long:

1. The coils on the back or bottom are dirty
2. The refrigerator gasket is bad
3. unit needs defrosting

Let's go with these because the top is cold

Check to insure that the vents and duct from the freezer unit to the refrigerator compartment are not blocked. If refrigerator compartment is equipped with a fan to move air from freezer compartment insure that it is working.
