is my ex trying to make me jealous?
my ex and I rarely ever talk. Then yesterday he decided to randomly tell me he was having a party but I wasn't invited. The night of the party I drove by just to see if he was really having it or if he was lying. Sure enough it didn't look like there was a party - no cars and no lights on. The next day I asked him how his party was and he said it was insane and there were a lot of people. So I pretty much know he lied to me about the party but what would be the point of doing that?

Immature building up his ego to try and make you envious.

But why is he trying to do that when he was the one that broke up with me 2 months ago? It just doesn't make sense to me

Because that is just the way some guys are. Don't try to read anything into it. Basically he feels like a loser and it makes him feel better. No reason but to come off like he is all that without you.

He is really immature for his age so I guess that's why he does it but its annoying because lately its been one thing after the other and I don't know how to make it stop and just be friends with him

    Why be friends with him?
He isn't 'inviting' you to these parties. Maybe call his bluff and say "Oh yeah, you keep having these parties I just might have to crash one one day!" And see what he has to say to that.
Or if he says he was out with some girl and you are positive he was not say "Oh yeah, I was talking to her and she said she was at the mall with her friends that night".

Yeah I actually don't know why I want to be friends with him.
I wanted to call him out on the lie about the party but I thought he might think I was a stalker for driving by

That's so immature. Just ignore it and don't take him seriously anymore.

Immature and a waste of time. I can see why he is your ex, you are much better off without this guy. Find someone better and in time you will look back and laugh

    The party was my house.

(just kidding) This is a non-starter. It doesn't matter why he did it, really it doesn't. The only thing that matters is how you can realize that for yourself and own that truth next time he tries put information in your life. You REALLY need to not care at all.
