Parole or Post release supervision in North Carolina
Does anyone know if it does any good to write the parole board about your loved one that is soon to get out, and if so who do you write?

It should be short and sweet, don't explain or excuse the bad behavior, look forward to good behavior, send it to the head of the Parole Board. Sign your full name and address and contact phone number and relationship to the prisoner.

Be realistic - if this is not a first offense, don't pretend it is - the Board will be looking at the person's record.

You have posted about your husband's legal problems a couple of times - what does your Attorney say about you writing a letter?

    Hello J:

If he's to get out soon, what purpose would the letter serve? If he MIGHT get out soon, and the parole board is going to consider his application for parole, THEN a letter is a good idea.

The parole board is looking for community support for its parolees. The fact that he has a wife who is supportive is GOOD. Just tell the board that you will provide a home and family support.
