1) Does the end of the story seem consistent with the rest of the text
2) Is Wang Lung misguided to believe that his hard work can actaully change the course of his family's history and future

Well, I'd hate to be a downer, but as you know, you'll read more and more books you won't enjoy for the next 2 years... then again for the next 4 years. Sorry bud, right now, I think it's as good as it gets... at least you're reading stories.

I don't mind the essay, just the fact that I can answer those 2 question in a 6-7 paragraphs, not 2 pages which for me would be like 15-16

I can't stretch essays out, I had enough time with Animal Farm and Postcards from No Man's Land
