You can ONLY stop payments when the child reaches 18 OR she gets married and the child adopted by the husband.
You should have thought about this BEFORE you did the deed.
You basically can't. That is if you are the father. Is there a court order for support? If not then don't send anything else until there is an order made because you can have to pay back support even if you already paid.
How old are you ? Who are you paying the support to ? ( the mom or someone else ? )
The only real way to stop support would be to prove through court ordered DNA that your not the father. Did you already have a hearing ? Support for the child in Indi lasts until the child is 21.
Long road ahead. Good Luck
You go back to court, and prove to them, if they show the child emancipated because of the baby, it may stop, but you wlil have to go to court, if she is not living with her mom, you can get the court to order her back or have CPS take the 16 in for her own protetion.
I'm confused. Is Needhelp the father of the 16-year-old, or the 16-year-old's baby?
Froggy got to my question first I was under the impression that he was the baby's dad. If he is the 16 year old's dad she shouldn't be receiving the support in the first place that would be her mother.
