Joining 2 Hampton Bay Track Light Kits
I recently bought 2 Hampton Bay track light kits which included a "straight connector" piece, which is supposed to be used for joining 2 fixtures together. The connector piece does not just attach the fixture housing, but actually does connect electrically. There is no mention of this in the instructions that come with the product.

My question is once these two kits (3 lights each) are connected do they run off the shared 120v line, or is each fixture required to have its own separate 120v line?

    Thanks in advance.

What do you mean that the joiner will not connect to the track strip, but connects "electrically"?

The joiner should connect between both track sections completely so that there is no exposed live parts, and one 120 volt feed can energize the entire strip.

Do yourself a favor and return the Hampton Bay product and find lighting store and get some real track lighting that you will not have any problems with. Popular brands electricians use are made by Juno, Halo, and Light-o-Lier, among others that far exceed any product made buy Hampton Bay.

You may spend a bit more money, but, considering that this fixture will be installed in your home, I beileve the added investment is worth the cost for the peace of mind.
