    How to strip hair rinse
Help! I've used an almost platnium blonde hair color for years, wanted to tone it down so tried a rinse called 14 carat gold. Ended up with hair that looks too reddish for my skin tone. What can I use at home to lighten it asap?

I am a stylist... Firstly, if you used a rinse it should come out with one shampoo, so you must have used something else. I would recommend that you go to your local salon and get a purple shampoo ( or a beauty supply store like sally's ), add about a tablespoon of baking soda to it , and leave it on for a few minutes each time you shampoo. It is not a quick fix but will help a lot. If that doesn't work fast enough, you can get a demi permanent color from the beauty supply store... you'll need an ash , or purple , based color and the appropriate developer. Mix according to directions and apply... watch is closly because since your hair started platinum if left on too long it will have a violet haze for a few days. It should take between 5 and 15 minutes...
