Common laboratory apparatuses and their uses :

1-beaker : to hold liquids
2-measuring cylinder: to transfer liquids (inaccurate method of measuring volumes).
3-burette: to transfer liquids (accurate )
3-pipette: to transfer liquids(accurate)
4-bunsen burner : to heat
5-tripod : holds the object which is to be heated
6-mortar: crushes solids
7-conical flask: to hold liquids ( better than the beaker in case of holding volatile or flaamable liquids which may splash or evaporate)
8-thermometer : to measure temperature
