Ok, when I was about 8 or 9, in the late 80s, I saw this cartoon that started as the fairy tale "the boy who cry wolf". The last time he cry wolf no one believe him and the wolf chased him and he fall into a hole and that hold lead him to a new world. Like a fairy tale world. He had to go through some adventure to try to get back to his world type of story line. He made some friends alone the way and I think there was a princess in it too. Like I said, I was about 8 or 9 when I saw this and I'm not even sure if it started as the boy who cry wolf. But I have been thinking about this cartoon for a very very long time and it's driving me crazy. Anyone have any clue as to what cartoon this is please answer. Thanks.

I think I remember the same cartoon and the name is eluding me too! The boy runs into the woods, falls down a hole and meets a fairy crying by a river. He talks to her and they continue the adventure meeting new friends along the way. They go through many of Eesops Fables including the Sun and Wind trying to take off their jackets, a grasshopper who doesn't work as hard as the ants and freezes during the winter and a donkey who has to carry packages of grain across a river and starts slipping in the stream to empty his load unil they put cotton in the packages to teach him a lesson ( as cotton actually gets heavier when wet). Ha Ha I forgot the name of it too!! I was looking for anything or people that knew what I was talking about! Did you guys ever Find it?
