    I have a line voltage hi hat in my kitchen that keeps blowing 50 watt bulbs, its rated for 50w max,115v

    Look for a loose connection or the bulb is overheating for some reason causing it to burn out.

    If part of a multicircuit, you may have a loose neutral.
