The week of may 30th I started having problems with my neck it felt like I had a not in it and the air that I breath in was hot and thick I kept feeling like I was nervice and I wanted to get sick shaking and wanting to cry all the time . I was having problems sleeping to where it felt like I couldn't breath unless I moved a sertin way. Well this last week about 4 days ago it got really bad during the day so I went to the emergancyroom told them what was wrong they did chest exrays and a blood test and said they thought it was my throid when all the test came back they said nothing showed up in the thyriod blood test and that my thyriod was very swollen and that they couldn't do anything about it and told me to see a thyriod specialist I did the next morning he did a test and said I had really bad acid reflux and told me to get prilosec and wrote a priscription for prevacid. I have been taking them but I have not ever had heart burn I just get a not in my chest area and neck. So far nonthing is really helping other than I can breath better at night. But tonight my mouth and hands started tingling and shaking really bad. I really want to no what is wrong with me. Can anyone help?

Was the thyroid specialist saying your thyroid is swollen?
Did he say anything about your thyroid?
Did he do thyroid tests?

The thyroid specialist did a test stuck a scope down my nose and throat. My thyriod wasn't swollen at the time but I told him that it was really bad the day before he said sense the hospital did a blood test for my thyroid and couldn't find anything wrong with my hormones that he wasn't going to do another one. I did start feeling better after the medicine but then the last 3 days on my neck twords the bottom on the right is swollen. I can look in the mirror and see it. I was thinking about going to another dr on Monday to see what they have to say because this is really getting to me.

I wouldn't pretend to diagnose a medical condition, but I have acid reflux for many years and have never had a feeling of a knot in my throat or neck.
The thyroid Dr. must have seen an indication of acid reflux disease when he looked in your throat. Maybe you have two problems.
The thyroid has a lot of effect on the body's metabolism so I imagine that various symptoms could result. You definitely should get another opinion. Good luck.
