air force coming from vents very low
Hi I have a carrier central heat/air unit. It is running fine and the air is cool, but the force of the air coming out of the vents is extremely low so the house never gets cool. I did notice that the plastic pipes leading from the unit to the little box on the floor did not have a cap on top. So it was blowing a lot of air out.. is that normal or should the connecting pipes be capped off with no air coming from the unit AND also should there be a seal around the 2 copper pipes that lead directly into the system.. there's a good bit of air coming out there too... help and thanks! Seal of the area around the copper pipes. The box on the floor is a condenstepump. Doen' have to be sealed. THe reason for poor air flow couls be a dirty filter but more than likely the return side of the coil inside the air handler is probably extremely dirty restricting air flow.
