Unable To Connect, Yet Internet is Connected
[Note: I have Windows Vista & snippets kthx. c: ]

Okay, so this problem has been up since last night.
I was watching a movie and after I finished, I forgot to take out the disk (a mistake on my part), and downloaded shock wave player for this website.

Well the thing never downloaded correctly, and it basically ruined my internet, disconnecting it and whatnot, so I decided to call it a night, thinking it'd be better in the morning.
When I woke up this morning my msn instant messenger was completely fine,
    But my internet wouldn't work.
I was connected to the wireless internet (on the laptop, that's where the problem is), but it was unable to connect.
I decided to fix my firewall, allowing Firefox and Internet Explorer, to-hopefully-work.
    But it didn't.

After some searching on the internet (on a parent's computer--and some failed attempts), nothing works.

I thought it was my winsock (which, it most likely is) and I did the cmd>netsh winsock reset> and it reset and I typed exit.

I restarted my computer as said and the internet still didn't work, so I retried it, and it said this: the requested operation requires elevation.

Now, I tried Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Limewire Internet, Safari and iTunes store (since it's connected to the internet), but nothing works.
    At all.

I find this really weird because I can connect to msn and send IMs and everything, except I can't go on anything else.

And if its an IP address problem, how do I fix that? D:

I am utterly stuck after going to the Windows help site.

    TheCleaner
Check if your browser is configured to use proxi instead that a direct connection, turn the firewall off and see if it works
