Connect water supply to toilet cistern
What is the best way to connect copper pipe to the threaded plastic inlet of a toilet cistern?

You have to have valve behind toilet. Connection between valve and toilet tank is done by using 1/2" x 7/8" x 12" flexible toilet supply ( many different sizes are available ). You can get all parts in Home Depot.

Go down to the hardware store amd purchase a chrome 1/2 X 1/4" compression angle stop,(see image) and a flexible tank supply,(see image).
Then simply hook everything up,(see image) Good luck, Tom

Too bad we don't have "...reputation good enough..." to appreciate this with our positive feedbacks ! Way to go, Tom! :-D
