"rain"this is my latest poem enjoy (critique)
    Being in a oven,
    Crashing down on you,
    Gasp for air,
    Over thick sky of blue.
    Fans running they go,
    Body moving overly slow.

    I long to be away,
    From this land of sun,
    I wish to go away,
    Oh I wish to run.
    With cool breezes,

    And real rain,
    That falls
    And falls.
    And secretly calls,
    For you.

    To run in rain,
    To smell the moss,
    The undried stream,
    To swiftly cross.

    Green hills,
    Swaying softly,
    Over ocean of grass,
    In magical land,
    Where time doesn't pass.

    To go to a place,
    Where clouds roam the sky,
    To listen to many birds,
    And animals cry.

Though I will miss the mountains,
    That encompass the valley,
    To be where it rains,
To be away from thses chains.

    Tobe away from the heat,
    And the casions a many,
    Where poor souls lose,
    There last penny.

    I want soothing rain,
    I want loving rain.
    Rain is life,
    I want to be,
    Where there is life.

You're welcome... actually, I liked the last passage so much I'd like to keep a record of it (with your name attached, of course). If that's okay.

I looked up Nevada and found the name means "covered in snow". I can't quite figure out the correct pronunciation of Nevada... I say the 'a' sound as in father. Is that right?

Although the name is derived from the Spanish word Nevada, which is the feminine form of "covered in snow", the local pronunciation of the state's name is not IPA: [nəˈvɑ.də] (as in the "o" in "odd"), but IPA: [nəˈvæ.də] (as in the "a" in "glad").[4]

Nice poem , very descriptive of where you are.

I love rain. Where I was raised we had green hills, much like in your poem and we would lie on our backs and watch the coulds roll by and it really did seem as if time stood still.

I like this part of your poem it evokes a feeling of peace.

    Green hills,
    Swaying softly,
    Over ocean of grass,
    In magical land,
    Where time doesn't pass.

Its pronounced a as in glad.I hate it when people say Nevahhda instead of NEVADA. I mean in spanish its pronounced o as in odd, but we say a as in glad. It is most definitely NOT a as in father. That is not right. It's a as in glad.
Its called "snow capped" because the mountains that surround us are snowy. We get snow and we get sun, not rain.
And yeah you can keep the last passage, and I'll private message you the name for you tp put with it OK?

I wish that you were here, Sonador101 and could attend the coffee house at a church nearby where people can read their poetry for others to enjoy! Frequently, there will be fiddle players, some of the finest guitarists in the area, people who play other types of instruments and also those who read aloud the poetry that they have written. I frequently play and sing at it. It involves all ages of people.

Perhaps there might be some venue around where you live where you could also express yourself in such a way?

Sonador101, I love your poem. My favorite fragrance is the rain, just as it is beginning to move into the area, yet just a hint that it might come, then there is that lovely, sweet, clean fragrance of the refreshing on it's way! Thank you so much for sharing a glimpse of your soul with us~

Wanting, needing, yearning! So much a part of life! Just loved it!
