- With Outlook 2003 open, press CTRL-ALT-S
- The Send/Receive Groups dialog will open
- There is probably only one GROUP NAME called ALL ACCOUNTS and it's already highlighted. If not, highlight it.
- Click EDIT
- Select your email account from the panel on the left
- Click the box at the top [ X ] Include the selected account in this group
- Click OK
- Back in the Send/Receive Groups window, make sure the first two items are checked in the section Setting for group "All Accounts"
- Set the minutes to the frequency you want Outlook to check mail (10 minutes...15 minutes, etc.)
- Click CLOSE
- Click VIEW and make sure there is a check mark by STATUS BAR (this allows you to watch the lower right corner of your Outlook window and observe the progress as it downloads/uploads email)
- Send yourself an email
- Close Outlook as soon as the email is sent
- Restart Outlook
- Just wait and see if Outlook does its thing now, watch the lower right corner Status Bar. Did your test email come in on its own? It should now.
