I have a half bath and a full bath that share a common wall. In the bathroom I would like to remodel the toilet that sits in the middle of the wall, while it's partner on the other side sits at the end of the wall.

Is it possible to move the middle walled toiled to the end of the wall to match the location of the other toilet? This would provide me with a much more functional floor plan in the bathroom I'm preparing to remodel.

If it is possible, can the two share the same main drain pipe? What are the problems to avoid?

Sure you can do it. Mark where you want your toilet to sit, break the floor remove toilet bend and insert new fitting that will point to your new location. It may be long 90 ( or two 45s ), 45, or 22 1/2 bend. Run short piece of same size pipe as existing. Finish your new run with new toilet bend fitting, closet ring - and you are all set. I deduct you are moving it only few feet. If that's true than you don't have to worry about reworking your vent. Yes, they can share same drain pipe.

You are not saying whether you sit on concrete slab or raised foundations. Cutting slab will require more efforts. If you have raised foundations that you should be done in no time.

Milo - Thank you very much for your assistance. The total distance from where it sits currently to where I want it is 4'2". The project is on the second story of a frame house and there is another toilet at exactly the same location I want to move this one to but on the other side of the wall. So if I'm understanding you correctly... I can either make a run to the previous drain pipe and install a new toilet bend in the new location OR pull a secondary run off the drain pipe that services the toilet directly behind it adding again the new bend.

If this is true would you recommend one over the other?
