How to remove an attached bathtup plug
My bathtub drains really slow. I would like to take off the plug, which is attached but I don't know how. It doesn't have a lever, it works by lifting the little knob on top of the plug.

Ahhh... I know your pain ROSY!

There are a number of different tub drains like you describe...

At the below pics...which one looks like yours?

The first and second one look similar... but they disconnect quite differently... so let me know which one if you can.

The second pic. In has a set screw to remove it (see last picture on right)... the first one does not have a set screw (Roller ball type drain... tougher to remove).

Let us know and then we can tell you how to get it off... ;)

    Hi Mark,

Mine looks like the first one. The little knob screws on and off. I'm looking forward to your reply.

    Thank you!

    Hi Rosy:

For a roller ball tub drain (see pic.) you need to turn this stopper counterclockwise to remove it.

However, you will also need to take a pair of needlenose pliers or similar tool and hold the stem under the stopper (see line under stopper at picture) so you can rotate the stopper out counterclockwise (may need another pair of pliers to loosen from top as you are holding from below with needlenose or similar tool).

If you don't hold the stem, this will turn counterclockwise forever... ok?

Let me know how it goes.

Let me know if any more questions.

    Good luck...
