    Receptacle problems
Hello My name is Scott I am a handyman and I was called to a home yesterday with receptace problem. There is a string of about 9 receptacles on a circuit in this 35 to 40 year old house none of the receptacles are working. I checked them with a plug in type tester yesterday and they were showing a reversed hot/ground condition. Today I changed them all out and they are still not working Each reeptacle has power to it but I'm only reading about 97volts to each plug what could be the problem.

Check neutral connection in breaker panel.

There should be some bad connections somewhere. Troubleshoot starting from the main panel.

    Mr. Jones,

Please invest in a Volt meter so that you can actually test for the presence of voltage.
