Toe-tap drain does not seal completely
I have a toe-tap drain in a kids tub. The mechanism pops up and down properly when the top is not screwed on. If I screw the top part with the rubber gasket on completely, I can not push the top part down far enough to engage in the lower (closed) position. I can only get it to lock in the lower (closed) position if I unscrew the top a bit. When I unscrew the top, the gasket does not form a seal, hence water leaks out of the tub. I do not know what brand this is. Is there an internal height adjustment?

The toe tap threads onto a brass rod, if you unscrew the tap all of the way you will see the rod. You can back the rod out of the housing a bit but I do not think it will help much.I think you can just try to find middle ground, screw it to the point where it does seal and then stop.

Thanks for answer. I replaced the cone-shaped gasket and that did the trick. Works fine. The gasket needs to sit on top of the pop-up mechanism, whereas the worn gasket was attached to the screw-off top.
