I have a Hampton Bay Redington IV that has a failed receiver. Where is the receiver located? Do I have to remove the ceiling fan in order to replace the receiver?

Usually the receiver is in the ceiling canopy. Usually. Look there first.

Thanks, I was afraid that it might be there as my fan is high in an 'A' frame. I will have to get a long ladder.

Save yourself future trouble then, remove the fan, and install a Hunter or Emerson, preferably without a remote!
