    Installing a RTH7500 Honeywell Theromstate
    I currently have a Honeywell T874R 1053 Thermostat with a Q674L 1140 base. I have eight wires coming out of the wall. They are connected to: T, W, G, R, O, Y, B, X2. There is a jumper wire running from W to X2.
None of the help tutorials that Honeywell has, lets you elect eight wires coming from the wall. I am using the owner's manual and using the diagram for Alternate wiring (for heat pumps only. I have figured out that I should do the following:
    Green G to G
    Red R to R
    Cream W to AUX
    Blue B to C
    Black X2 to E
    Orange O to O/B
    Yellow Y to Y
That leaves my T wire (cream colored) with nothing to connect to it.

I read that the T wire is for the Thermister which new thermostats do not use any more and that I should tape this wire off and not use it.

I do not want to actually do this without an experts opinion. Please advise if this is the correct wiring diagram and if it is okay to tape off the T wire. I have a Trane Multi Stage Heat pump. If taping off the wire is what I should do what is the safest way?
