    How to cut a turkeys wings
    I have some young turkeys and want to clip there wings, does anyone know the steps to do this, also need to clip some young chickens wings.

    When I used to keep pet birds I would only cut one wing and leave the other one alone. This was done so that the bird could not fly. Just trimming both wings the bird can actually fly but not very far. I tried that once and sure enough the little guy could fly for about 5' and then plop to the ground. When I did one wing only he could not fly at all period.

    When I was a kid my father raised turkeys. We clipped their wings using a hatchet. One person would hold the turkey upside down with it's wing over a chopping block and about half the feathers were chopped off. As Twinkie said, only remove feathers from one wing.
