    Download a movie trailer
There is a movie trailer I want for a school asessment (it has a certain part I want) but it can just be viewed, not downloaded to my computer. Is there anyway I could get it off the net for my own use?

Try right-cling on the link to the movie and select "Save Target as..."

I have windows XP... setup might be diff on others.

Here's two ways that usually work when you cannot right click to save as:

The first idea is to let it load into the computers temp folder (which is often a hidden folder) and then drag it out of that folder to your desktop. Even if your op system is different it ought to do something like this.

First it helps if you clean out your cache... I don't know your browser. On internet explorer you go under tools, internet options, then clear history, delete cookies, delete files. You don't need to do this, but it's a good idea generally to keep your cahce cleaned out and here it reduced the number of folders you need to look through. You don't need to do this, but it helps.

Then go to whatever site and let the movie load and watch it all the way through.

    1) now go to the start button on the bottom left corner of the screen, do a search for movies on your computer. If you can do an advanced search limit it to movies in the last day or whenever you last accessed the movie, and also if the adv search options let you, you should also look in hidden folders. This might pull up the movie. Then you can drag to the desktop or copy and paste.

Second method does a similar thing, focusing on only downloaded internet stuff. It basically locates hidden temp folders that contain most of the content from the sites you visit. Pics, movies, gifs, etc.

    2) left click on the start button, bottom left corner screen. Then programs, accessories, system tools, disk cleanup. Have it search your drive. This takes a minutes or so. When its done you can click on temp internet files and then view files. Open each folder and view by details. Then sort by size, clicking twice to put the big items at top. If a big file that is the movie isn't near the top of the file list, go to the next folder and repeat. This is why we cleared out the history, to reduce files.

Again, when you find the movie drag to desktop or copy and paste.

You might simply be able to find these same folders using the first search method, looking for "temporary internet files" and allowing hidden folder searches.

I can put clips on to the desktop probably 90% of the time this way when you cannot save as. Occasionally a site will play a movie without loading it on you computer somehow and it is found this way or its hidden.

Let us know if this worked.
