What the hell is with my neighbors dog?
    Hi,

My neighbors dog had fleas but she has since washed him and applied
Flea medicine to him, when he had fleas and now still for example
He really slowly walks under the table cloth or curtain and gets a massage!
And also if you really gently rub your nails up and down his back he likes
That!! WHAT the hell is wrong with the dog?? does anyone no:confused:?!

    Thanks:)

As long as the dog is not giving "him" the message,

Sounds like the dog needs another flea treatment, it can take several times

Many dogs apparently like the feel of things brushing their backs. In greyhounds, it's referred to as "trancing". Yes, the dog may still have fleas, but it may just like the way it feels to have his back scritched that way.

Did your neighbor just wash the dog with a flea shampoo? He probably still has fleas, and he is itchy! There are oral flea meds that she can give him. Does he wear a flea collar? since most fleas tend to go up around the neck area.

I can't help but ask. Just what kind of messages is he getting? Emails, voicemails, are the fleas talking to him? I don't understand what you mean! ;)

Gee a dog that likes to be petted! OMG What a rarity. I think you should cuddle with that pooch. He'll love you forever

If you are talking about fleas well there is a possibility that the dog was treated. However when you treat a dog you have to remove or clean everything that the dog came in contact with before he was treated. On things like his blanket there would be many fleas so it should be washed.

Most dogs love having fingernails running down their backs. It's normal for them to like it. So, there is nothing wrong with your dog there. My dogs love it when I do it to them! As for the rest of the question, I can't really understand what you are asking. Rephrasing the question might help!

It is totally normal for a dog to want to be scratched and massaged - especially if they had recently been bitten by fleas. Nothing wrong with that pup. :)

Isn't there a spot on the back when you scratch him, his leg will jump around? Kind of like that reflex thing where then hit you on the knee with the little hammer. He could have itchy flea bites or scabs on his back even though the fleas are killed.

Dogs like it when you scratch they'r back, my dog does the same thing, and I'm guessing a lot of dogs do that!

Bathing the dog once a week with flea shampoo for dogs would help a lot though
