More importantly, you need to identify the power source for either the switch or the ceiling.

Is the switch already in place? And if so, what is it servicing? Was there a light fixture in place already.

We cannot answer anything more until we get information back from you.

I am redoing an attic. I am putting in two lights in the ceiling and a wall switch. The switch be a dedicated switch for the lights. It will be powered straight form the box. I have a three lead wire from the fuse box to the light switch box. How do I run the wires to everything.

Your 3-wire cable coming from the box/panel has ground, chassi and hot wires.. the two lights should be connected in parallel...

Box --------------------------------------ground (neutral) ------------------------------lights
------------------------------------ hot ----- switch ---------------------------------
------------------------------------------- chassis ------------------------------------------ goes to metal parts through the path (if any)

Ground and neutral are NOT the same thing. Also, "chassis" is a non-standard term. True, some electronic use the term "chassis ground", but in typical AC wiring we use the generic terms "Hot, neutral and ground".

I just make this post so the OP (or anyone else) does not get confused when they hear the other terms.
