I'm not a spider expert, but it sounds like a species of tarantula. Is that 2in the total width including legs?
Yes two inches includes legs -it has very skinny legs - I have picture of it I could email
The skinny legs seems to rule out tarantulas. Send it. I'll see if I recognize it.
I can't figure out how to send a picture on here. Do u have an email address I could send it to?
Two pages I've used before...
How to Identify Poisonous House Spiders
Spider Identification Chart - Venomous or Dangerous?
And forgot to mention... as much as it seems like you might be able to identify spiders by the markings, color, etc, often its things like eye arrangement and claws and other hard to see characteristics that really is used to tell what it is.
Not an expert in this field.
Queenbee, When you post, there is a paper clip at the top of the tool bar. You can click that and attach a picture. There will be a window that shows how to manage attachments. You may need to edit your pic to the file size that is allowed, depending on the file type. You attach from this window.
I hope this helps.
I am having to use my cell phone because my computer died Thursday & my phone won't allow me to click on the paper clip. Do you have an email?
Queen - I know how it is using the cell for this site... not easy. I was going to tell you to click on my name (menu w/option shows up; one is to send e-m. I'll send you one and you can reply if you change your profile to allow it. (It doesn't give me your add.)
