I have a 1995 Honda Civic with a VPS XCL engine immobilizer. A week ago the I wasn't able to start the car because the system wouldn't turn off, because it's a standard I was able to jump the car off. Does anyone know how to remove the vehicle protection system?

That can be tricky business--I would get someone who specializes in removing them to do it.

Man, I agree with tx. I tried to remove one on my son's Mazda and they are wired in by lunatics ! I guess to keep a thief from bypassing the system. I got it done, but would not undertake the procedure a 2nd time.
