    Basement tub drain
I just replaced the drain in my basement tub. The water starts to drain but then seems to stop. What would cause the water to stop flowing?

Hi Budster... you just replaced the tub waste and overflow assembly.. or just the drain popup..?

Which drain are we talking about.. See below. Are we talking the entire tub waste and overflow assembly (1st pic.) or any of the following drains..

Let me know so can best advise... ;)

    Hey Bud,
Sure wish you guys would give us more information to work with when you ask a question. You're forcing us to guess about the nature of your problem and I'm guessing that you replaced the entire trip lever tub waste and drain assembly and you left the stopper too low so that when you lifted the lever the water started to drain but backed up when it hit the partially closed stopper.( How'm I doing so far?) Mark showed you the outside of the assembly. Here's what the inside looks like,(see image). You mudst vunscrew the two screws and pull out the stopper assembly. Adjust the stopper so it seats when the lever is all the way down. Does that help it to drain better?
    Regards, Tom
