Hi folks
I need to gain some insight for an appropriate method to seal the black iron washing machine drain. I used Oakum packing in the past with success. But now I'm not so lucky, I have the Oakum material. Any advice will be most appreciated

Need a little more information here...

Is this a standpipe from a trap for a washing machine that you are trying to seal off once the washing machine hose is installed..?

Or, is this the cast iron drain line you are trying to connect into and then running your drain line..

Just clarify a little and then I can give best answer I can... ;)

Wondering if you are trying to install the washer hose and water is shooting back out the drain line..? Let me know.
