You see my son is sick with a cold (coughing, running nose, fever). And a friend of mine came to visit me with her son. Then the next she came back and her son was sick also and said my son got her sick. She wasn't being mean but I don't think a cold could be passed that quickly. What's the actual process of a cold being passed along?

It may have been due to your son's illness, or her child could have been exposed days earlier simply by handling something another person who was ill had handled. Sometimes symptoms will show up very soon after exposure as the body will start its defenses right away... other times it will take a couple of days to start to really see a change.

This is a really good example of teaching hand washing every time you think about it. No kidding, these days it is absolutely necessary to WASH YOUR HANDS EVERY TIME YOU COME HOME !!!

All it needed was a weak immune system and a sneeze or a cough.
