Ask Me Help Desk - Could I be pregnant?

Hi

The first day of my last period was 11/05/08. My cycle is usually 26-28days. Last month I noticed a pinkish discharge for 2 days about 2 weeks after my period and though it had come early. There was no bleeding just the pink discharge and then nothing. By my cals, I'm 21 days late. I've taken two tests - in the evening though-and they've both come back negative. Today the motion of the train made me feel ill. What are the chances here? I've taken some flu meds and hope that I haven't jeopardised the pregnancy if it is true. Surely the tests would show up as positive by now. I've missed one period a few years ago and have been 2weeks late once but other than that, it's been pretty regular. What are your thoughts? Has anyone had any similar experiences or symptoms they can share with me?

They sound like pregnancy symptoms, but you never know until your test comes back positive, you know? The best test is an HCG blood test from the Md's office. They can tell at your first missed period, but... you said you're 21 days late?? Hmmm... take an EPT urine stick test at home... buy Dixie cups & pee in those instead of straight on the stick. Dip the stick in the urine for 5 seconds... and count it out... 1 Mississippi... 2 Mississippi & then lay it FLAT on the counter. Walk away for 10 minutes & come back. Whatever it says is probably accurate, but either way, have a blood test taken at the Md's. My first symptom was not nausea... it was breast tenderness. I have a beautiful & healthy baby girl who is now 7 months old! YAY!!

You could be, it's possible. If you want an accurate answer, well honey, I can't give you that, there's no way for me to tell if you are pregnant over the internet.

Take an HPT using first morning urine or go to the doctors office for a blood test.
