    Disabled Bride walking the aisle
My Future Bride is apprehensive about walking down the aisle because she walks with a limp. She would rather I walk the aisle or we change that part of the wedding ceremony. What can we do to replace that part of the ceremony, yet make it special for us?

First off congratulations on your upcoming wedding. The day should be yours to do as you like. There is no rule that the bride has to walk down the aisle .But with that being said the guests to your wedding are your friends and family not passing stangers. So they already know she has a limp. They do not care they love her as she is.

If you are having a traditional church wedding this won't work but I was thinking it would be nice if she (or the both of you) entered in a carriage, this would be nice and very Cinderella like for an outdoor wedding...

Something scaled down but kind of the same effect would be to have her carried down the aisle on a really nice and modern lectica (they are the portable bed-like couches royal women use -seen in roman and greek movies-)...

Either one of these would create a grand entrance and not require her to actually walk down the aisle!
Hope this helps, Best of Luck!

It is your wedding, you can do it sky diving from a airplane, on the rollcoster at six flags or on a white water raft if you want. I have done weddings in almost any place you can think of, back of a fire truck, in eating places, and walmart, some people want to get married where they meet.

And next who cares what is "normal" I know I don't, if you want to both merely come out from the up front, Just do what you want. Make it your special day.

But to be honest, it is your family and friends there, guess what, they all know she has a limp, I don't think this will be a surprise for anyone??
So if she would like to, no one will care, they all look at the dress anyway.

If I was your bride to be I'd have your mother walk you down the aisle and give you to me.
