    Giving up parental rights
I am an single woman who got pregnant and had a baby by a married man. I want to give the baby up for adoption. Does the father of my child have any parental rights

Yes he does, he is the biological father. Is he on the birth certificate? Have you discussed this with him?

Does he know you were pregnant? Does he know the baby was born? You need to speak with an adoption attorney in your area to get all the specifics.

Yes, even if not on the birth certificate he will always have the right to claim partial custody and/or visitation. So if you are giving the child up for adoption, the father will have to sign to give the child up also

You have to get him to sign over his parental rights. Im a single woman 50 years old and am wealthy , have no criminal record email me EMAIL REMOVED FOR PRIVACY if you still want to give him or her up for adoption. I have two boys 16 and 18 who I have a good relationship with. Get counseling to make sure if adoption is where you want to go.
