What state are you in? Eac state has different laws and many have very specific ones pertaining to an infant defined as a child under 12 months.
Welcome to AMHD. You can object to overnight visitation until you are satisfied that your child will be appropriately cared for as to person(s) the child is with and the location. Dads will usually bring in their mothers, girl friends, or spouse to show they have the assistance of a female. But you have every right to make your objection known to the judge; you probably know more about the father than anyone. In some instances, you can request a home inspection by social service personnel before the first visitation. You may wish to have an attorney assist you with this.
He can not force you to pump, the father could use forumla, it will very from judge to judge, some may allow right away, some at about 6 months. Remember it is the fathes child also,
I'm sure you're way past this by now. But for others that "google" this topic here is my experience. It's not about the formula. I am back at work and only breast feed once a day at this point. If I skip a feeding I run the risk of drying up. Because my supply is limited pumping can do damage to my milk ducts. I agree it is the fathers child also. The father should want the child to continue to receive the health benefits of breast milk and recognize that it isn't forever. In my opinion, if the mother isn't prohibiting the father from visiting the child than a request to have the baby overnight is more to control the mother than acting in the best interest of the child.
Its not *always* about controlling the mother. *Some* fathers actually enjoy alone time with their children. *Some* fathers would like to enjoy their children without their ex hovering over their shoulder.
ANd the opposite view is that if the mother refuses to provide breast milk its HER that is trying to be controlling.
Obviously this is a very sensitive subject to everyone, as i have been doing a lot of research as i am going through this myself with my 8month old daughter! In my case i was in a physically/emotionally abusive relationship with the father of my child, who is a person who has never taken any kind of significant interest in her until i left him. It is unfair that many people hold fathers against lower standards, as i commonly hear "YOU SHOULD BE HAPPY THAT HE WANTS TO HAVE CUSTODY OF HIS BABY". Every time someone says that i absolutely see red!! I know this man inside and out, and the only reason he wants anything to do with her is due to control and image! This is quite commonly the case with many contrlling men, as when they start to lose control over their spouse, the children are usually their only avenue to do so.
Sorry but you need therapy. There are many caring fathers out there and many are much better at rearing the chidldren then the mothers. Why disqualify them ? Both parents have an equal obligation to the child. And this ranting if it were to take place in a courtroom would have the child removed from you fourth with. Its sad that you believe fathers are bad people.
